Lowe Art Museum seeks to explore the entire scope and span of human artistic history, with a collection dating back more than 5,000 years and including some 16,000 pieces. Run by the University of Miami, the museum is particularly proud of its ancient and Native American pieces, its Greek and Roman sculptures and vessels and its Renaissance and Baroque era paintings. Located on the university's campus, the museum is just a few miles southwest of downtown Miami.
